Amazon Rainforest Conservation
SDG Impact
About This Project
This project protects over 150,000 hectares of pristine Amazon rainforest in the state of Pará, Brazil.
The conservation effort prevents deforestation in one of the world's most important biodiversity hotspots
while supporting the livelihoods of indigenous communities who serve as forest guardians.
The project uses satellite monitoring and on-the-ground patrols to prevent illegal logging, mining, and
agricultural encroachment. Community programs focus on sustainable agroforestry techniques,
education, and healthcare access for local inhabitants.
Carbon credits are generated by preventing the release of stored carbon that would occur during deforestation.
Projects like this are essential for maintaining the Amazon's role as a carbon sink and preserving biodiversity.
